Clients of ProCredit Bank gather in Thessaloniki to discuss new business opportunities

On May 9th, the Europe Day, ProCredit group marked the occasion by organizing a regional event in Thessaloniki, Greece, inviting clients from the local ProCredit banks in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia, FYROM, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo in order to discuss about the business regional potential and potential partnerships among them, fostered by a common partner, ProCredit Bank.

 

Around 100 persons from Romania took part in the event, representatives of SMEs, clients of ProCredit Bank. The event, which also marked the start of ProCredit Bank Bulgaria’s operations in Greece, where the bank opened a branch in Thessaloniki and the signing of an agreement between the EIF and ProCredit to increase lending to innovative SMEs in Greece, accommodated around 800 guests.

B2B meetings called “Meet your potential business partner” followed the opening speeches, allowing similar SMEs from different countries to find common interests and consider cooperation. The Romanian clients were involved in a total of 347 meetings, aspect which highlights the  high interest of other businesses from Europe to conclude ties with similar companies from Romania. The more than 500 companies which attended the event, representing sectors such as production, trade, agriculture, mechanical engineering, textiles, IT and renewable energy, enthusiastically embraced this opportunity to engage in close dialogue.

 

In the aftermath of the event, Dr. Antje Marielle Gerhold, General Manager of ProCredit Bank Romania reflected on success of the event, declaring that “A large number of clients initiated discussions regarding possible collaborations with ProCredit Bank clients from other countries, while others managed even to conclude partnerships on the spot, in Greece. We are pleased to have managed to provide our clients with new business possibilities and to position ourselves as a regional, development oriented bank.” The event concluded with a fireworks display, rounding up a successful, regional event.
